The Association is a non-governmental, independent, non-political, non-profit, and non-commercial organisation. Since its establishment, it has been a respected and recognised partner of the Government of the Czech Republic and the Ministries of Industry and Trade, Defence, Interior, and Foreign Affairs, with which it has signed numerous cooperation agreements. The AOBP has also become an important partner and participant in legislative processes.

The Association promotes the business and commercial interests of its members through dialogue with Parliament, ministries, and other public authorities. Through roundtable discussions and direct meetings with representatives of state administration and legislative bodies, it contributes to addressing issues affecting the Czech defence and security industry as a whole. The AOBP serves as a primary contact point for equivalent foreign institutions and assists companies from around the world in finding suitable partners in the Czech Republic. Likewise, it supports Czech manufacturers in identifying foreign companies for industrial cooperation.

The Association actively supports the efforts of Czech defence and security companies to enter international markets. Within its role, it contributes to the export promotion policy of the Czech Republic and seeks to influence public authorities in advancing the export interests of its members.
