Revolution in Orthopaedics: ProSpon and 3D-Printed Implants

Novinka

3D-printed custom implants are revolutionising the approach to treatment. Tailor-made replacements offer an unprecedented level of personalisation, reduce the risk of complications, and accelerate recovery.

ProSpon, a member of the NANOPROGRESS Cluster, will showcase its 3D-printed custom implants – replacements for joints and other parts of the human skeleton – at the Technology Village. This exhibition is part of the Cluster Day in the Pilsen Region, which will take place on 22 October 2025 in Pilsen.

ProSpon was founded in 1992 and holds a unique position on the Czech market. The company is engaged in the development, production, and distribution of oncological, orthopaedic, and trauma implants and instruments.

3D-Printed Custom Implants – Replacements for Joints and Other Parts of the Human Skeleton

3D-printed implants represent a significant advancement in modern medicine, addressing a range of critical needs that traditional implant manufacturing methods have not been able to meet. This is especially important for patients requiring an individualised approach. Standard implants do not always perfectly match a patient's anatomy, which can be inadequate in cases of complex injuries, tumours, or congenital defects.

Based on detailed CT or MRI scans of the patient, we create a precise 3D digital model of the affected area. This model is then used to design an implant that perfectly matches the unique anatomy of the individual patient.

ProSpon is a founding member of the Czechimplant Cluster, and the opportunity for knowledge transfer and collaboration in research and development among organisations working in this field is one of the key conditions for the company’s growth – and for the advancement of the entire sector.
