From Research to Revenue: Facilitating Technology Transfer through Clusters

European Cluster Collaboration Platform, on behalf of the European Commission, organised the EU Clusters Talk "From Research to Revenue: Facilitating Technology Transfer through Clusters" on 23 April.
Europe generates world-class research, but turning this research into market-ready products and services remains a challenge. Bridging the gap between innovation and commercialisation is critical to strengthening Europe’s industrial competitiveness, resilience, and technological sovereignty. Clusters are well positioned to support this process by connecting research actors with businesses, facilitating partnerships, and supporting the uptake and scaling of new technologies—particularly among SMEs.
To explore how clusters can act as effective enablers of technology transfer and commercialisation, the European Cluster Collaboration Platform, on behalf of the European Commission, organised the EU Clusters Talk "From Research to Revenue: Facilitating Technology Transfer through Clusters" on 23 April, 8:30 – 9:45 CET. The session presented good practices from clusters across Europe, examined the tools and partnerships needed to support the commercial uptake of research results, and discussed how clusters could strengthen collaboration between academia, industry, and innovation support actors to close the innovation-commercialisation gap.
Speaker included:
- Angelica Ekholm, CEO, Dalarna Science Park
- Fátima Carmona, Director of R&D and Projects, OnTech Innovation
- Paolo Vercesi, Executive Director, AFIL
